Why are my Basic translations out of date?
If your store is using Basic Translations, they should always update automatically when you change your store's text. If you make an edit to your store and the Basic Translations don't update themselves right away automatically, then there is old translation data from another source that is being used instead of the Basic Translation.
Basic Translations are created whenever your page is loaded. This means that they are always translating the most up-to-date version of your store. Basic Translations will not translate any text that is already translated, either by our app's advanced translations, or by another app. This means that if there is an old Advanced Translation, or a Translation from another translation app, that old translation will load first, and the Basic Translations will not apply.
To fix this problem, we need to:
- Switch the affected language to Advanced Translations.
- Delete the old translation data.
- Switch back to Basic Translations.
If there is just one page affected, then this is not difficult to do! You can switch from Basic to Advanced or vice versa on the "Languages" Page in our app, as shown here:
Then, you can delete the Advanced Translations using the Manual Translation tool. I suggest that you use the keyword search tool to find and delete the text if it is just a few items.
If there are too many translations to delete manually, please let us know at help@hextom.com so we can remove them for you!
