How to use Keyword Search to find text to translate
The Keyword Search feature in our app makes it easy to find specific text that needs translation. Simply enter a keyword, and the tool will locate matching text across your store so you can quickly review and translate it.
This tool is essential when you need to quickly locate specific words or phrases such as brand terms, buttons, or legal text, that may require updates or corrections, allowing you to edit or remove translations directly from the results.

Accessing The Keyword Search
To start using the Keyword Search feature, follow these steps to access it in the app:

Open the Translation page in the app.

Navigate to the Translate Text section and select the Find by keywords search tab.
Using Keyword Search
On this panel, you’ll find:
- Select a target language – Choose the specific language you wish to translate into.
- Category - Choose the category the text would fall under (or choose All Categories if unsure).
- Translation Status – Filter your list to find specific items, such as those that are Untranslated, Outdated, or view All entries.
- Search in - Choose whether to search within the Base Text (default language) or the Translated Text.
- Match type - Select Contains for a broad search or Exact Match if you are looking for a specific phrase or text.
- Keywords - Enter the specific word or phrase you are looking for to narrow down the results.
Once you have configured your filters and keywords, click the Search button to generate your results. Your results would appear like this:
You can enter in your translation and simply save:
Or you can click on More to reveal two options: Exclude (to quickly set up an exclude rule for AI translations) or Translate for Multi Languages (to manually translate the same item in multiple languages).
Walkthrough Examples
In this example, we demonstrate how to locate a specific text in the Base text:
- Target language: French
Category: All Categories
Translation Status: All
Search in: Base text
Match type: Exact match
Keyword: Products (The keyword should be in your default language) - The tool will display every text that matches your keyword exactly, showing its category, subcategory, and current translation. You can manually edit or remove the translation in the right-hand text box and click Save.
In this example, we demonstrate how to find all instances of a specific word within your existing translations using a partial match.

Translation Status: All
Search in: Translated text
Match type: Contains
Keyword: Produits (The keyword should be in the target translation language) - The tool will display every text that contains your keyword, showing its category, subcategory, and current translation. You can manually edit or remove the translation in the right-hand text box and click Save.
