How to Set up Shopify Markets

The Currency features of our app work with your Shopify Markets settings to allow you to sell your products in your customer's local currencies. For this reason, it is important to set up your Shopify Markets the way that you like, to ensure that the correct currency will be used in the correct market region.

We have a video guide on how you can set up your Shopify Markets and Currency conversion here:

Adding Markets to your store

You can add new markets to your store from the Markets page in your Shopify Admin settings.

Changing your Language and Domain settings

You can add more languages to your Market through the "Languages and Domains" button. If the market is using your store's primary domain, then it must offer the same languages as your primary domain. You can also use subfolders, or an entirely different domain, which will allow you to offer different languages on your different markets. Languages that you add to your store through our app are added to all your existing markets automatically.

Adding a Region/Currency to your Market

You can change what currency a market uses from the "Products and Prices" page. For markets with a large number of regions, there is an additional option to "Show prices to customer's in their local currency" as shown below on my test store's Eurozone market. This will have Shopify display the local currency for every region in the market, even if it is different then the market's base currency.

If you have this option disabled, then you will get the option to manually manage your exchange rate, as shown below.
