Can we edit translation manually in Rich Text Editor through Visual Editor Tool?
Our app supports both HTML view and Rich Text editor view. However, the Rich Text editor has some limitations. If the original text contains complex HTML tags, the editor may modify them, resulting in inconsistencies in the styling of the translated content compared to the original.
For this reason, if the HTML tags are complex, we will display only the HTML View. If the tags are simple, you will have the option to toggle between HTML View and Text Editor View.
Complex HTML Tags
In the case that original text have complex HTML tags, and you want to translate it manually, please follow these steps below:
- Navigate to the "Visual Editor Tool" from the dashboard page in our app, or through the left side menu.
Note
If your store is unpublished and therefore has a front-end password, you will need to enter it.
- Select your target language for translation, which can be found at the top of the page.
- Find the text that you want to edit, and click the "pencil" icon to open the rich text editor.
- Click the "code view" button in the original text and copy the HTML including plain text to the translation field.
- Then replace the plain text part with the translation text, then hit "save".
This approach can make sure the translation text has the same style as the original text.
Tip
If the text doesn’t have the "pencil" or "AI" icon for translation, you can use the "Custom Translation feature" instead. For detailed instructions on how to use custom translations, please refer to this guide.
