Why is my Collection filter not translated?

If you’re using the Shopify Search & Discovery app for your collection filters, you may notice that some texts aren’t being translated.

This happens because our AI/manual translation uses Shopify’s Native Translations feature and Shopify Search & Discovery app relies on product tags and other elements that Shopify’s Native Translations feature doesn’t support.

You can read more about this in the Shopify help center under Filter translations Shopify Help Center | Filters

In the example below, the color filter is using Shopify Search & Discovery, which is why it is not translated.

However, our app can still provide translation to these texts using either the Visual Editor Tool or Auto Coverage Translations.

Translate Filters Using Visual Editor

  1. Navigate to the Visual Editor page in the sidebar and select the language you want to translate.

  1. Drag your cursor over the collection filter text you want to translate. A blue box will appear around it, with two buttons:
  • The Pencil icon is for manual entry translation.
  • The AI icon is for AI translation.

If you’re using a third-party app for collection filters, you can also translate them using the "Visual Editor tool".

For more details about the Visual Editor Tool, please refer to this guide.

Translate Filters Using Auto Coverage

  1. Navigate to the Languages page in the app.
  2. Click More Actions > Enable Auto Coverage. The filters will then be translated automatically.

For more details about the Auto Coverage, please refer to this guide.
